Jeremy was an climber and mountaineer from his youth.  He established his reputation as an audacious climber when, as President of the Oxford University Mountaineering Club, he made the first ascent of Christ Church's Tom Tower.  This and other recollection of Jeremy and his life can be found in the Alpine Club Journal in 2005.
